The Compassion Based Yoga Training (CBYT) is a 50h teacher training for personal practice and teaching. This training supports personal well-being through yoga, ayurveda and self-compassion. It offers you a strong foundation in traditional yoga combined with medical science and modern insights.

With Anneke Sips (RN, C-IAYT, RYT500) and WIllemijn Noordhoff (MD, RYT500)

CBYT supports personal well-being through yoga, Ayurveda and self-compassion. It offers people a strong foundation in traditional yoga combined with medical science and modern insights. This training has a function-oriented approach to movement, which means it focuses on awareness, stability, alignment, stretching, mobilization and daily lifeapplication while working on a calm mind as well. Together, yoga and self-compassion has the potential to create a state of warm, connected, presence during dis-balanced moments in our lives. People across the globe will be trained to work with their students intelligently and with common sense while they learn to motivate themselves with kindness rather than criticism.

The CBYT-200 Yoga Alliance certified teacher program provides a solid foundation to teach yoga and deepen one’s own personal practice on the mat and integrated in daily life. This foundation will serve as a powerful base from which you as the teacher can grow into their own expertise and specialism. It will provide a complete tool guide for you and your students through a safe practice that educates and inspires. We are proud to offer this exceptional training program that teaches the Compassion Based Yoga Approach and honoured to host students who join us from all around the globe. The training knows 3 phases:

Phase I 22 to 29th of April 2018, PORTUGAL: EXPLORATION à This is where you start. We meet at a beautiful retreat centre where you get indulged in the teachings. Here you research yourself, you learn lots of new skills and the basics of yoga practice and philosophy.

Phase II ONLINE STUDY + MENTORING: INVESTIGATION à In this phase (which takes around 5 months and happens in between the two retreats), you will be given weekly ‘action & accountability checkpoints’, homework assignments consisting of online lectures, review points, practice teaching and mentoring. You should plan for 3-4 hours a week of homework plus a regular yoga practice. In the month of August, we take it easy as rest is part of the program.

Phase III 5 to 12th of November 2018, PORTUGAL: INTEGRATION à In this last phase it’s reflection time! We look at everything you’ve learned and practiced, and add what is missing. You will take what you need, what makes sense for you, and what serves you in this stage of your yogic-life. Here we will reflect on your own practice and teaching foundation. We end with a little celebration! You just created the perfect yoga foundation for yourself.
