Yoga, Pilates, Restore Your Core
Join us for a week of deep strengthening work, and even deeper relaxation in the beautiful resort of Monte Velho.
During the week we will enjoy twice daily movement classes to build strength and restore balance in the body. These will include a combination of Pilates strengthening and resistance work to build stability in the body, and flowing yoga sequences to release tension and bring body and mind into balance. We will also explore exercises and sequences from the internationally acclaimed online programme, Restore Your Core. Restore Your Core is a whole-body, rehabilitation focussed exercise programme aimed at anyone who has issues with their core, pelvic floor or back. During the week we will use the main concepts from the programme to increase awareness, strength and stability in the body.
The movement classes will be suitable for all, including complete beginner, and will focus on improving your overall movement habits, so the good work can continue long after our week together, and be applied to any other movement class.
Alongside our movement classes, we will also practice mindful stillness, with daily guided meditation, mindful breathing practices and deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra to melt away any tension.
During the week will will have one day off to explore the area, either as a group or individually.
The pace for the week will be relaxed, slow, with plenty of free time to enjoy the nearby beach, relax in a hammock, sleep, walk or simply be.
The cost includes:
– all classes and group led sessions, including twice daily movement classes;
– three delicious, vegetarian meals per day;
– shared accommodation;
– use of the onsite facilities including swimming in the lake or enjoying the sauna
Flights and transport are not included in the cost.
The picturesque Algarve Coast is just 45 minutes drive from Monte Velho, and the pretty town of Aljezur, with its large indoor market, just 20 minutes drive away.
About the teacher
Louisa Thomas has been teaching hatha yoga since 2007 and Pilates since 2017. Her training includes Sivananda and Ashtanga yoga, Polestar Pilates, myofascial release practitioner and numerous core-rehabilitation methods including Restore Your Core. Her classes have a strong focus on building strength and re-balancing tension patterns in the body to prevent injury. Her classes are accessible, educational and light-hearted. As Director of Education for Restore Your Core, a proven core rehabilitation programme aimed at people who have core, back and pelvic floor issues, Louisa is involved in developing the curriculum and building the network of teachers worldwide. She is passionate about educating her students to uncover their body’s movement blind spots, release tension patterns with breath work and deep relaxation, and to move through life with vigour and zest.
